Dade Supervision Is Not Jail

The MODOC Division of Probation and Parole, District 9 is a state field-supervision operation. It is not a detention facility, release desk, booking office, or current jail roster. Its Dade alternate report site exists for scheduled supervision contacts. A physically released person may appear through District 9 after leaving a MODOC prison, but the office did not perform the prison gate release.

Probation can be ordered by a court without a state-prison term. Parole follows a prison commitment and a Missouri Parole Board decision. Conditional release is a supervised part of many Missouri sentences. Each status places a person in the community while state authority remains active. District 9 can confirm public supervision facts, while MODOC or the court supplies the underlying release, judgment, and final-discharge records.

Verify Dade Active Supervision

Begin with the MODOC Offender Search. It covers active offenders, including probationers and parolees. A District 9 or other field-office location means the person may be physically out of prison and under supervision. It should not be read as an institution location. The search expressly excludes discharged offenders, so no result can be consistent with completed supervision.

Use this verification route:

1. Search by first and last name, then compare DOC number and other identifiers. Never match a supervision record on name alone.
2. Read the status, location, sentence, county, and any parole or conditional-release date together.
3. Call District 9 for public confirmation of the current supervising office and reporting location when the online entry is unclear.
4. Use the Dade Case.net docket for the court's probation order, revocation, discharge, warrant entry, or amended judgment where public.
5. For completed supervision, request MODOC historical completion and end-date fields or the final order or certificate when open.

MODOC identifies confirmation of supervision, officer and office, present offenses, judgment, term and conditions of supervision, custody or bond status, parole or conditional-release date, and Board release decision as public information. Confidential assessment, treatment, health, victim, and pre-sentence material should not be requested as routine public supervision data.

Dade Alternate Reporting Site

The official District 9 resource guide lists a Dade alternate report site in Greenfield. It is available by appointment on the listed days, not as a daily walk-in probation office. The main District 9 office is in Joplin. Call the main office to confirm the current assigned office and reporting site before traveling, since individual assignments and schedules can change.

The statewide P&P information says regular district offices generally operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except state holidays. That general schedule must not be applied to the Dade alternate site. Its listed use is appointment-based on three days. An older guide's named officer also should not be treated as a permanent assignment.

The state P&P family information gives the statewide framework for reporting and violations, while the District 9 guide supplies the local site. If the two sources appear to differ on access, call District 9 and follow the current case-specific direction. A general office schedule does not convert an alternate site into a staffed daily office, and a scheduled report day does not prove the person's current supervision status.

Note: Call District 9 before visiting Greenfield because the Dade location is an alternate appointment site, not a full-time walk-in office.

Dade Supervision Record Sources

Different offices own different parts of a post-release history. The Missouri Parole Board owns its release decision and public Board records. MODOC owns the active offender record, location history, supervision data, and department completion fields. District 9 handles current field supervision. The Dade Circuit Court owns the probation order and its public docket. A complete answer may require two or more of those sources.

Department records requests go to OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov. Board records go to ParoleBoard.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov. Include the full name, DOC number, Dade County case, and exact public field or document. Dade Absconder and Warrant Status

An absconder label means the supervision agency alleges that the person stopped reporting or cannot be located under its procedures. It is not a release type. A Board warrant or court warrant can lead to arrest and return to custody. The Division's Command Center works with law enforcement on absconder cases, but no official public absconder list from Dade County Sheriff Ryan Robison was found.

Check the active MODOC status, the public Dade Case.net docket where a warrant entry is open, and District 9. Do not infer a warrant from a missed appointment, an old news item, or a person's absence from a reporting site. Some warrant information is restricted before service, and a supervision violation can be handled in more than one way.

The official Case.net search provides the court route, and the Dade Circuit Clerk directs local searches to the 28th Judicial Circuit. A public warrant entry can support a current court action, but it should be checked for service and later docket changes. District 9 remains the source for the supervision allegation and assigned office. Neither source should be used to infer facts the other controls.

If custody resumes, identify the new custodian. A person arrested on a supervision warrant might be held at Cedar, another county jail, or a MODOC facility depending on the authority and stage. District 9 can confirm the supervision office, but the jail or prison holds the new admission and later release transaction.

Confirm Dade Final Discharge

Physical release and final discharge are not the same. Parole or conditional release ends prison confinement while supervision continues. Under RSMo 217.730, the Board can make a final order of discharge and issue a certificate after the required performance and time criteria are met. The final order, certificate, department response, or historical completion and end-date fields provide stronger proof than disappearance from the active search.

For probation, look to the Dade court docket for a discharge order or other completion entry and compare it with MODOC records. A person can stop appearing in the active portal for reasons other than completion because the search warns that some entries may be withheld. Silence is not proof.

Physical release

The person leaves a jail or prison but may remain under supervision.

Supervision completion

The ordered probation, parole, or conditional-release period ends.

Final discharge

The state authority for that correctional relationship ends through official action.

Revocation

Supervision is withdrawn after legal process and custody or another sanction may follow.

District 9 Release-System Distinction

The Dade facility map includes District 9 because a released person may remain visible there after a jail or prison record changes. That inclusion does not make the office a jail. Dade and Cedar control local booking and release movements. MODOC institutions control prison custody. District 9 controls community supervision contacts and can verify the public active office assignment.

A release inquiry should therefore start at the system that performed the event. Ask Cedar for a jail door time, MODOC for a prison release or discharge, the Board for its decision, and District 9 for active field supervision. Ask the Dade court for a probation order or public warrant entry. Keeping those roles separate prevents an appointment site from being misdescribed as a detention location.
